Walgreens Trip

I went to Walgreens today to pick up my Sunday papers because they have them even cheaper than Walmart. I did the PepsiCo deal below. Now I don't need Pepsi, but I'm addicted to it even more than coupons. I figure if I'm going to buy it anyway, I may as well buy it on sale. Good sales just are just an enabler to me.
Here's what I bought
5 12-packs $3= $15
1 2 liter $1.25
2 Tostitos $2 =$4
2 papers $1.25=$2.50
Total with tax came to $23.96
My total for the Pepsi products totaled $20.25 which gave me just enough to get the $10 Register Reward. I can't use this Register Reward to do another Pepsi deal, but I can use it to buy a product that will give me a different Register Reward. This is a great way to buy things for free.

Welcome to Save With Scissors

Hi! I'm Melissa and my addiction to coupons began about 4 years ago.

I had always used coupons in the past. I would clip a couple of 25¢ coupons here or there and use them only at Walmart. I didn't even bother with grocery stores because their prices always seemed too high for me. I never went to a drug store because Walmart could fill my prescriptions too.

But 4 years ago, with a baby boy and having quit my job to raise the little guy, I began looking for ways to save money. It was a little tough trying to stretch my husband's income. I started searching online and came upon The Grocery Game. I signed up for the 8 week trial. I learned a lot from the forums and the 8 week trial gave me a really good start to serious couponing.

I decided not to renew my subscription because by the end of it, I had found Hot Coupon World. I realized I could get the deals on my own without having to pay for them. I learned even more from these forums and there was no looking back. Finding it was a great eye opener.

I had no idea I could get such good deals. I had no idea I could stack a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon. I had no idea I could get name brand items at a grocery store cheaper than generics at Walmart. I had no idea I could get so much for free at drug stores and grocery stores.

I began using coupons a lot. The one trip that really caused me to become addicted was a trip to Dillons one day. I just ran in to pick up a couple of things I had coupons for, but as soon as I walked into the store, I saw a group of women crowded around some shopping carts. I wondered what they were looking at, so I walked over. There were shopping carts full of diapers on clearance. All the women were waiting for a manager to bring up more of the sizes they needed.

I started looking through the piles and grabbed all the diapers that would fit my baby, plus some I knew he would one day grow into. I even bought some newborn diapers because at the time, I had a great-niece on the way. Not only were all these diapers on clearance, I had a coupon for just about every pack. That day, I bought over $60 worth of diapers for $13 and I was hooked from that point on.

My coupon addiction has brought me to start this site to share how I get the best deals and hopefully it will help others learn to save too.
